So in updating my little blog (I added a publication on the right hand side —>), I found the SocialVibe widget. I suppose it has been there for quite a while, but I just sort of missed it. In any case, I chose the One Laptop per Child charity because I thought it fit well with my blog. Although the truth is, any of the charities were worthy. In a mark to corporatism, none of the charities were so political as to provoke any problems. I admit though, I did look for the SF/SPCA (I used to volunteer with them), but I only looked for them (and noticed their absence) because the LA/SPCA was one of the options!
This is how someone described it, and I like their description:
“It’s actually a pretty neat way for individuals to support charities without having to literally donate your own money. The idea is to become a member (for free) then earn points by completing activities sponsored by a company. And the sponsored companies will donate to your chosen cause through the points you earned.”
In any case, I hope you can contribute. Every time helps.
